  1. I really liked this shortbread recipe! Now I’m just thinking about the Pretty in Bacon Chocolate Shortbread Pigs!

Shawnda – your snowflakes are gorgeous! I definitely need to practice my piping skills…

  2. So I was making Banoffee Pie for my friend’s international themed party on Saturday and tried to take off my knuckle with my mandolin slicer. It was my first major kitchen injury and I am currently in a giant bandage so I can’t bend my finger! As a result, the boyfriend finished the pie for the party and I can post about that today, but the shortbread cookies will have to be put on hold until I heal a little. I’m so bummed because instead of piggies, I found a cookie cutter of my favorite animal ever– you’re going to see shortbread hippos running around soon! xoxo

  3. I made these and the cookies were very yummy but the icing from the recipe was not very pretty it was way thin I wish I had used the other recipe that you all used. My cookies were so ugly I didn’t post them. I definitely will try the bacon version!

  4. I’m here! I made it finally! And now I’m going to have to turn right back around and make next week’s divinity recipe, so it’ll be a good old Project Pastry Queen streak on my blog for a little while.

I thought this was a great, very easy recipe–easier than I expected it to be–and loved Rebecca’s frosting recipe. It tasted just like what I remember from childhood! Again with the easy factor, I liked that they just showed the dipped cookies before further decorating and followed suit.

The result is my favorite animal take on her pigs: Pretty-in-Purple Shortbread Hippos 😀

  5. Maybe I should try it again perhaps I did something wrong yours look great Emily!
